What does it mean when products say ';Seals the cuticle';??

im not exactly sure what it means??/ i think i have an idea... does it seal split ends together??? dont call me stupid or anything i just dont know what it means. but do the flat irons that say this really work.. like the chi flat iron? What does it mean when products say ';Seals the cuticle';??
no it doesnt seal the split ends but it flattens down the cuticle (which is the outer layer of the hair) in the midshaft which makes it appear shiny. and a good quality iron will do that such as the Chi or even better the FHI flat iron :) just make sure you use a heat protection spray to protect your hair and add shine! What does it mean when products say ';Seals the cuticle';??
this might not help much, but im 'pretty' sure that thats what it means. Sealing the cuticle protects the inner structure of the hair including the cortex and the medulla. In a way it sorta closes the split ends too.
